In case of diagnostic difficulties in the esophagoscopy in patients with wounds of the neck we should remember about
the contrast radiography of the esophagus to identify streaks contrast, which would indicate a damaged esophagus.
Lost of time after injury, the rapid spread of the infection to the mediastinum leads to serious complications: the development of purulent mediastinitis, purulent pericarditis, and sepsis.
