.Abstract
Modern possibilities for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are very significant. The main well-studied risk factors for CVD are smoking, elevated blood pressure, and high blood cholesterol levels. Other factors associated with CVD include overweight and obesity, diabetes mellitus, excessive alcohol consumption, and psychosocial stress.
Non-pharmacological prevention of cardiovascular diseases is the first stage of any preventive measures. Pharmacological prevention of cardiovascular diseases is usually carried out in addition to the maximum possible implementation of non-pharmacological interventions.
