GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASES IN PRACTICE OF FAMILY PHYSICIAN
Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the common esophageal disorder. GERD symptoms are markedly variable. Still, the most frequent symptoms are heartburn, acid regurgitation and dysphagia. Clinical history, 24-hour pH-monitoring studies and upper GI tract imaging are the basis for diagnosing GERD. Management of GERD includes lifestyle modification and acid suppressive therapy.
