STRESS AND BURNOUT IN PHYSICIANS AND NURSES OF PRIMARY CARE UNITS. LITERATURE REVIEW
Relevance. Physician burnout is a syndrome that is widespread throughout the world and includes emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a sense of diminishing personal achievement.
Aim: to analyze the literature sources devoted to the study of stress and professional burnout among primary health care physicians.
Search strategy. Search depth - 5 years. The time period was designated from 2016 to 2021. Only those literary sources that reflected the problem from the position of stress and professional burnout of doctors and medical staff of primary health care were subject to study. Criteria for inclusion of publications in the literature review: publications included in the databases PubMed, Web of Science Core Collection, Google Scholar.; publications with clearly articulated conclusions; publications in the last 5 years. Criteria for exclusion of publications in the literature review: summaries of reports; articles with paid access; duplicates; theses. A total of 138 sources were found. After reviewing the publications, 28 sources were included in the literature review.
Results: Literature analysis showed disappointing results. The frequency of symptoms of professional burnout in studies among doctors and nurses exceeds 50%, and has an adverse effect on their psychological health. Studies have found that burnout syndrome is more common among women working in primary health care centers. Important factors influencing the spread of professional burnout are: socio-economic status, marital status, type and length of work.
