A total of 60 articles, containing data on the role of essential and toxic trace elements in the pathogenesis of kidney stone disease, were included in the analysis. Results: Data on the impact of essential trace elements (calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium) and toxic metals (lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic) on the stone formation processes are presented.
