EOSINOPHILIC GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES IN CHILDREN. СLINICAL CASE.
Eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGD) are a group of diseases characterized by eosinophilic infiltration of various parts tissues of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), leading to morphological and functional disorders. Currently, the topic is relevant in the practice of general practitioners, pediatricians and gastroenterologists. In the daily practice doctors are not alert for eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases, which leads to late diagnosis.
The article presents a clinical analysis of a case of eosinophilic gastroenterocolitis in a child with Вronchial asthma and burdened allergic anamnesis.
The presented clinical case demonstrates difficulties in diagnosing EGD, when parents refuse to perform invasive endoscopic examinations with biopsy. Considering characteristic laboratory tests (long-term eosinophilia, myeloid reaction of eosinophilic type) and concomitant allergic disease with the exclusion of other causes of eosinophilia allowed diagnosing EGD in the child. Timely diagnosis of eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease allowed the effectiveness of the prescribed pathogenetic treatment.
