COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF ETIOLOGICAL STRUCTURE AND SENSITIVITY TO ANTIBIOTICS OF INFECTION AGENTS IN TWO CLINICS OF BAKU
Aim. In this work, a comparative study of the etiological structure of pathogens found in patients of the Bonadea International Hospital in Baku and the educational-surgical clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University and their resistance to antibiotics was carried out.
Materials and methods. An observational study of 107 patients at the Bonadea International Hospital was conducted from December 2020 to July 2021, 171 patients at the educational-surgical clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University from January to November 2017. The design of the clinical study was a parallel group study. The studied bacterial strains were isolated from urine, sputum, wound discharge, blood of patients from the above clinics. The pathogen was identified using an automated Vitek2 microbiological analyzer and a Vitek MS mass spectrometer; antibiotic sensitivity was detected by the disk diffusion method. For the cultivation of bacteria, we used the media of Mueller-Hinton, Sabouraud, blood and eosin-methylene agar.
Results. Most of the identified pathogens were represented by S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae, E. coli, Acinetobacter spp. The resistance of microflora to antibiotics in these hospitals varied significantly, which is most likely associated with the intensity of the use of these drugs in each of them.
Conclusion. The research results can be used to develop empirical antibiotic therapy regimens in multidisciplinary hospitals. A sufficiently high level of antibiotic resistance determines the need for early detection of resistance mechanisms both for the appointment of targeted antibiotic therapy and for the purpose of epidemiological control.
