The high level of knowledges of patients with symptoms of STI about ways of transference and prevention of HIV-infection didn't lead to shaping of a stereotypes of safe sexual behavior (low use of condoms with unconstant and commercial sexual partners). It speaks about low suspicion of the population concerning risk of an infection of a HIV through sexual contact.

In the first part of the article the author describes the urgency of the problem in terms of the spread of HIV in Kazakhstan and the region. The final part deals with the problems that lead to lack of effectiveness of interventions and solutions.
