Выбор имплантата в хирургии, всегда находил внимание во взглядах ученых и практикующих хирургов. Синтетические материалы претерпели значительные изменения по мере открытия новых технологий. Но и сегодня, их применение вызывает немало бурных обсуждений, споров и различных откликов. Поэтому дальнейшее применение имплантатов является одним из перспективных и актуальных направлений хирургии.
