The high level of knowledges of patients with symptoms of STI about ways of transference and prevention of HIV-infection didn't lead to shaping of a stereotypes of safe sexual behavior (low use of condoms with unconstant and commercial sexual partners). In the first part of the article the author describes the urgency of the problem in terms of the spread of HIV in Kazakhstan and the region.
